It's crazy to me that people bring up tianeptine as a kratom alternative, honestly it’s something that really worries me. It gets talked about like it’s just another option in the same lane, but it’s really not. The way it acts in the body is a lot closer to traditional opioids, and it can lead to dependence way faster than people expect.

A lot of the stories out there aren’t pretty either. People think they’re just switching to something “stronger” or more effective, and before they know it they’re dealing with withdrawals that are on a completely different level. It can escalate quickly, both in how often it’s used and how much is needed just to feel normal.

Kratom has its own issues and definitely isn’t risk-free, but tianeptine feels like a completely different category in terms of how easy it is to lose control with it. It’s just not a good trade-off.

If anything, it seems way safer to focus on tapering, taking breaks, or finding more stable routines rather than jumping to something that can dig a deeper hole. Just hoping people look into it carefully before going down that road.
