Kratom and Fasting

Page 1 of 2Next

Unexpected effects of fasting while on Kratom.  The first couple of days of my fast I lowered my kratom dosage way down, between 1/2 a teaspoon and one teaspoon per dose every four hours.   Now, it’s been a rather painful day and that dose has increased to between 1 teaspoon to 1.75 teaspoons every three to four hours.  It’s almost as it I am just burning through it very quickly as the fast continues.  Just an observation.

I personally cannot do any kind of fasting while taking kratom..makes me sick to my stomach. Which is why I eat a couple crackers or something small right after I take it

I've been doing IF with kratom. Lost 25lbs so far.

I do IF, as well, because it really helps to lower inflammation.  I feel better on it and keto.  Trying to attack this condition from different fronts.

Ok, that is one thing I have noticed is that kratom makes me hungry.  I'm not doing a total fast.  It's more of a bone broth, coffee and one small meal a day fast.

Keto everyday would probably be healthier than fasting. It's hard to get it right but I think keto and kratom get along well.

Problem is that usually kratom makes me not hungry and disrupts the balance... I feel much better on kratom if I have eaten well that day. But at the same time, it doesnt feel very strong if you consume kratom on a completely full stomach. The timing is hard to get right.

I have to do Keto.  It is the only way of life which keeps my inflammation way down, my blood sugars in a normal range and my triglycerides better than normal.  The fast is a religious fast as I am able.  I won't always be fasting.  That said, I do feel much better on it.  All combined, it does seem to help.

I agree, a full stomach truly does delay the effects of kratom.  But, for some reason being on keto and fasting, my body seems to burn through it quickly.  Where I used to be able to go five hours or more without kratom, pain becomes challenging at the three hour mark, sometimes less.  I am using my most potent strains now.  Those strains that only help somewhat are being put aside for much needed relief.

That said, I do wonder if I am simply and very quickly growing a tolerance.  It has only been a month and a half or so, so, I hope that is not the case.  Once the fast is over, I will know better.  It's going to be a balancing act, and you are so right, it is hard to get right.

Intermittent fasting has been good to me as well. It's not good for our bodies when we eat around the clock, our biology is not built for it, it's not something our ancestors did. Fasting and calorie restriction strengthen the body through a process called hormesis.
